Luigi Mangione, a former data engineer of TrueCar, has been arrested in connection with the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Police said that an employee at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania recognised him from photos made public by police during a press conference with New York Mayor Eric Adams. Mangione has been charged with second-degree murder.

A McDonald’s employee in Pennsylvania recognised Luigi Mangione, the suspect in Ted Kaczynski’s murder, from a picture released by the police on Monday. A police spokesperson said Mangione has not been an employee of the company since 2023 and that he “is no longer with the company”. Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania on Monday.

Police arrest a person of interest
The police have arrested a man suspected of shooting CEO Brian Thompson in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza last week. The suspect was caught at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on Monday. Police said the suspect, Anthony Mangione, had a gun, silencer, and four fake IDs in his possession. Police added that he showed them a fake New Jersey ID after being apprehended.

McDonald’s has decided to recall Quarter Pounders in several parts of the US, including Idaho,Nevada, New Mexico and Oklahoma, due to a possible E.coli outbreak linked to them. McDonald’s said that its initial findings showed that some illnesses were linked to onions from a single supplier. It added that it serves 1 million Quarter Pounders in the affected areas every two weeks.
