There is a loss of E-cadherin that can lead to sex hormone dependent cancer

A team of scientists, led by researchers from the Johns Hopkins University, have reported that a new class of drugs, GRPR, is being investigated for treatment of sex hormone-dependent cancer. The new drug works by blocking the action of Gastrin-Releasing Compound (GRC) on the S-cadherin peptide receptor. It has the ability to bind to both the S-cadherin peptide receptor and GRPR.

In LA, protests against ICE continued into the week

The US President’s administration has said that the recent protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles are a “kind of rebellion”. US President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles. The protesters have been protesting against the Trump administration’s raids on undocumented immigrants, claiming they’re a violation of their constitutional rights.

Carbon from land to the atmosphere is routed by global river systems

Analysis of global river carbon emissions on London’s River DIC, CO2 and CH4 using radiocarbon database and hydroATLAS56 has been done. In September 2021 dissolved CO2 and CH4 samples were collected for 14C analysis from a range of urban rivers and canals. For each data point in the radiocarbon database, we collected information on the catchment characteristics of the sampled river.
