The cancer research has a lot of problems

A report has said that of the 161 approvals for solid adult cancer therapies by the US Food and Drug Administration since 2017, only 35% were graded as delivering “substantial clinically meaningful benefit”. It added that Stanford University in California has a Share of 343, despite just 11% of its Nature Index output for the period 2018–22 being related to cancer research.

A judge in Texas has blocked the state’s law requiring pornography sites to post a health warning and age verification, saying it’sunconstitutional. The judge said the state provides “virtual no evidence that this is an effective method to combat children’s access to sexual material”. Porn sites are required to provide warnings about the possible psychological effects of viewing porn.

Cyclones in US are travelling faster and are causing a 25% increase in local rainfall compared to hurricanes, a researcher said. The researchers called it “a forecaster’s nightmare”. “It’s very likely that human-caused climate change contributed to…unusually warm ocean,” the researcher said, adding, “Climate change is making it more likely for hurricanes to behave in certain ways.”
